Founded in 2006, RidgeRun has a long history of helping customers build successful, enduring product lines across a range of system-on-chip hardware platforms.
Initially focused on software development kits and device drivers for embedded systems, RidgeRun ventured into digital image and audio processing technologies becoming a primary expertise. By early 2010, a large portion of its products and services were dedicated to efficient audio and video algorithm execution on dedicated hardware, such as microprocessors, vectorial units, and DSPs.
With the advent of NVIDIA in the embedded systems market and the proliferation of general-purpose GPUs in systems on chips, computer vision, and more complex algorithms became a reality. By then, RidgeRun had established a mature team of engineers with specializations in digital signal processing, high-performance computing, and machine learning. By late 2010, running deep learning models at the edge became feasible, which immediately became part of RidgeRun's offerings.
More recently, the company has specialized in not only model optimization and deployment but also in machine learning and deep learning development. Finally, in 2021, RidgeRun.ai was formally launched with a dedicated engineering team and an extended portfolio of specialized services and products.
